What is the difference between a GrowSaver™ air disinfection system and an air filter?

An air filter is designed to collect particulate from the air (i.e. dust and dirt). Airborne contaminants such as viruses, bacteria, mold, chemical agents, and VOCs pass through even a high efficiency filter, like sand through a tennis racket.
GrowSaver™ UV air disinfection systems are designed to destroy the DNA structure of microorganisms through sterilization, as well as change the molecular structure of contaminants through photo-oxidation destroying both biological and chemical contaminants.

How are GrowSaver™ in-duct UV air disinfection systems different from conventional UV products?

How do UV lamps destroy biological and chemical contaminants?

Most GrowSaver™ systems are equipped with germicidal (UV-C) lamps. The germicidal lamp destroys bacteria, viruses, mold and micro-contaminants in the air such as Powdery Mildew, Botryris, Gray Mold and fungus. The UV-C wavelength attacks the microorganism at the molecular level by deactivating its reproductive system.

Are GrowSaver™ air disinfection systems safe?

GrowSaver™ air disinfection systems are perfectly safe and are certified cQPS and Clean Green certified. Follow all installation and user instructions.

How much electricity does a GrowSaver™ air disinfection system consume?

GrowSaver™ systems’ electrical consumption ranges from 17 watts to 865 watts at 120v. Most units can operate with 120V or 240V.

Do GrowSaver™ air disinfection systems produce ozone?

GrowSaver systems designed for the disinfection of powdery mildew, molds, fungus and Botrytis do not produce ozone.
GrowSaver systems designed for the elimination of cannabis odors in an exhaust duct only, can produce ozone.

INSTALLATION, WARRANTY & MAINTENANCE

Is a GrowSaver™ air disinfection system difficult to install?

There are several GrowSaver models, from portable units, which only have to be plugged in, to in-duct systems, which require installation. We recommend you contact a qualified HVAC technician for installation of our in-duct systems.

Do GrowSaver™ air disinfection systems have to run 24 hours a day?

In-duct models are recommended to run 24 hours a day. Some in duct models have a sensor to run only when the HVAC is operating.
Portable units are recommended to be run 24/7.

What maintenance is required?

Replacing lamps per manufacturer recommended intervals are the only maintenance required.

What kind of warranty is offered on GrowSaver™ air purification systems?

Our commercial products have either a 1 or 2-year warranty on lamps and a 3 or 15-year on ballasts from the date of purchase.
Any defective or damaged parts will be repaired or replaced. We do not issue credits. A proof of purchase will be required to proceed with the warranty.
